Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)

Lets parents borrow for post-secondary education of dependent children.

• Up to 10 years to repay. Repayment normally begins within 30 days after final disbursement.
• Parents can borrow up to the cost of education minus any other financial aid the student is receiving.
• On federal loans disbursed after July 1, 2000, members receive a discount for paying on time. Receive a rate reduction of 1 percentage point for as long as you pay on time, beginning at disbursement. And get an additional 0.25% off the rates when payments are automatically deducted from a Navy Federal checking account or any other financial institution's savings or checking account.
