Scholarships & Grants
Scholarships
Finding scholarships requires doing your homework. If your child excels in school, sports, science or arts, a scholarship might be available that will pay anything from a few hundred dollars to full tuition, housing and fees.
- Talk with colleges’ financial aid officers, ask friends and use Web sites like scholarshipexperts.com and the free fastweb.com.
- Apply to as many as possible. The more applications, the better your chance of landing one.
- Inquire at work about scholarships and grants for employees’ children
- Community organizations, foundations, religious groups and professional associations are other resources.
Federal Pell Grants
Students can apply for this financial gift resource at their school. Eligible students can receive up to $4,000 per year. Part-time students can qualify for lesser amounts. |
