Get Involved
Parental supervision may determine whether or not regular employment is right for your teen. Here’s how to make their working a positive experience:
- Discuss. Help your teen determine what kind of work he or she can handle and how much. Decide together, in advance, how to use the new earnings.
- Check it out. Meet your child's supervisor and see the site and what the job entails. Make sure it’s safe.
- Watch for warning signs. If grades slip or extracurricular activities slow down, the job may be too demanding.
