Switch Your Checking

In just three quick steps, you can switch your checking account to Navy Federal.

Step 1: Open a checking account online. Your checking account comes with a free Visa® Check Card—the combination debit and ATM card that's accepted worldwide at millions of locations.

Step 2: Sign up for Direct Deposit with Navy Federal.

  • Fill out Navy Federal's Direct Deposit Enrollment Form and provide it to your employer or payroll office.
  • Government agency employees download
    Standard Form 1199A and follow the instructions on the form.
  • Active, retired/veteran or reserve military, DoD, and DFAS civilian employees, use myPay.
  • Social Security, Supplementary Security or other federal benefit checks, use Go Direct.

You'll need your account number, which is located at the bottom of your checks.

Step 3: Stop using your old checking account, but keep it open until your direct deposit and automatic payments have moved to Navy Federal and all your checks have cleared.

Plus, enroll in FREE Web Bill Pay and pay your bills online. To enroll in Web Bill Pay, you must be enrolled in Account Access.
